I Never Wanted to Be Your Everything

Updated: Dec 8, 2019

She seemed to float in, like riding a cloud on a blue sky day, here one moment and gone the next.

I wanted to hang on but knew deep down that would only quicken her departure. So, I loved passionately, divorcing her at every turn of the cold shoulder only to remarry that wild heart when it was once again open.

It's a constant thrill ride of exuberant connection creating a powerful resolve to remain on my own ground, expanding a love neither of us can possess alone.

In time she looked at me and quietly spoke from pouting lips, “don't own me, just let me be the one thing you can't let go of.”
