The Expo itself was held in a breathtaking spot in San Diego, The Broadway Pier. I scored some cool compression gear by 2XU that will be great for short sprints and parachute drag training.
The race kicks off at 6:00 am in a deafening sound of the starters horn.
It's Sunday, March 12, 2017 at a time when MOST people sleep in. But not runners! We wouldn't dream of it, not where there's miles to be raced with 30,000 friends near you.
What an amazing race!
Finished with a new Personal Best at 1:43:59 with a pace of 7:56 per mile
Will definitely participate in this race again next year.
Raced along Team Hoyt and crossed the finish line with them. Since 1977, Team Hoyt has been inspiring people all over the world to work together and not quit. So powerful!
I want to join you guys!
LIVE WITH LOTSA HEART
A new PB at 01:44 for my half and a great run through downtown San Diego.
Challenging hills, lotta energy, bands and supportive sponsors.
Get out there people!
The course was, beautiful. Winding through sunny San Diego, along the bay and through the streets was spectacular. The steep elevation gain of Washington Street kicked everyone's ass but we got it done.
2017 Medal
2018 Bib Number = EPIC LIFE
2018 Medal
Came back in 2018 and ran with Team Hoyt wearing their jersey!
